Plastique Tiara and Nymphia Wind Announce The Serpents Tour: Celebrating Asian Heritage and Drag Excellence
READ TIME: 3 MIN.
Plastique Tiara and Nymphia Wind, both prominent alumni of RuPaul's Drag Race, have announced The Serpents Tour, a live production that reimagines the classic Asian folktale Legend of the White Snake. The show follows two mystical serpents—Plastique embodying the White Snake and Nymphia the Green Snake—on a journey of adversity, sisterhood, love, and self-expression.
Kicking off on January 25, 2026, at Irving Plaza in New York City, the tour will visit 15 cities, including Philadelphia on January 26 at Theatre of Living Arts and concluding on February 16 in Portland at Revolution Hall. Audiences can expect couture fashion, theatrical storytelling, dynamic performances celebrating Asian heritage, pop culture, and drag artistry. A key feature is the inclusion of local AAPI and LGBTQIA+ talent in every city, providing a platform for diverse artists to share their perspectives.
Nymphia Wind described the inspiration: "At its core, the legend is about choosing who you are in a world that often asks you not to exist. Reclaiming that story and turning it into a celebration felt very personal to me." Plastique Tiara added, "Drag has always been about transformation and self-expression. Through this tour, we celebrate our Asian roots and lift up the amazing AAPI and LGBTQIA+ talent in every city."
Plastique Tiara, a standout from the RuPaul's Drag Race franchise, boasts over 20 million followers and 1 billion views across social media, known for viral transition videos, hair and makeup tutorials, and live performances. They have appeared on the cover of L’Officiel Vietnam and received accolades including Forbes 30 Under 30 North America, Rolling Stone Most Influential Creators, and People Creators of the Year. Represented by United Talent Agency, Plastique champions AAPI and LGBTQIA+ voices.
Reflecting on their role, Plastique shared: "The White Snake represents softness that is often mistaken for weakness. She is elegant and nurturing, but also resilient and defiant. I see myself in that duality."
Nymphia Wind, winner of RuPaul's Drag Race Season 16, is acclaimed for blending fashion, theatrics, and storytelling. Highlights include a performance at The Paris 2024 Cultural Olympiad and a sold-out show at New York’s The Town Hall, plus a Vogue Taiwan cover and Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia recognition. On their character, Nymphia noted: "People often see the banana, the silliness, and the camp first… But, underneath that, there is someone who survives by turning pain into humor and spectacle."
The performers' friendship dates back to 2019, when Plastique visited Taipei and met Nymphia at a bar afterparty. Plastique recalled: "I actually met Nymphia in 2019 at a bar afterparty while I was touring in Taipei, and I remember thinking she was so pretty. It really felt like fate from that day." Nymphia had followed Plastique's Instagram since 2017, admiring their fierce style. They reconnected post-Drag Race, bonding over shared commitments to Asian drag excellence through beauty and fashion, leading to this joint tour.
Nymphia emphasized accessibility: "You don't need to know the original legend to enjoy The Serpents Tour. People from any cultural background can see themselves in this story." Tickets are on sale now via platforms like Ticketmaster and Etix.
This tour underscores the growing influence of Asian drag artists in amplifying LGBTQIA+ narratives. By spotlighting local talent, it fosters community and visibility for transgender people, non-binary individuals, and others within the spectrum. Nymphia Wind stated, "The Serpents Tour is a chance to reimagine an ancient folktale through drag, blending drama, humor, and heart into an unforgettable live experience." The production promises to empower audiences, celebrating resilience and identity.
