Equality Now Celebrates 25th Anniversary at New York Gala

On Monday, October 30 at New York City's Gotham Hall, Equality Now celebrates their 25th Anniversary at their New York Gala. The event, "Make Equality Reality," will honor Gucci America President and CEO Susan Chokachi and A Breeze of Hope Foundation Founder Brisa De Angulo.
This year's "Make Equality Reality" gala celebrates Equality Now's 25th Anniversary. Founded in 1992, Equality Now is an international human rights organization dedicated to ensuring that women and girls around the world can live their lives free from violence and discrimination. Combining grassroots activism with international, regional and national legal advocacy, the organization envisions a world in which women and men have equal rights under the law and full enjoyment of those rights.
Its issue areas encompass Legal Equality, Justice for Girls, and ending Sex Trafficking, Sexual Violence and Harmful Practices, including female genital mutilation (FGM) and "child marriage." The organization has partners and supporters in almost every country in the world.
Honorees include Susan Chokachi (President and CEO, Gucci America) and Brisa De Angulo (Founder, A Breeze of Hope Foundation). The gala Co-Chair is Gloria Steinem and Creative Director is Joss Whedon, with Equality Now Global Executive Director Yasmeen Hassan.
Performers include guests: Adwoa Aboah, Amir Arison, Nazanin Boniadi, Vinnie Burrows, Amy Carlson, Nisha Ganatra, Ana Gasteyer, Lauren Mayberry, Matt McCoy, Jennifer Morrison, Shoba Narayan, Adepero Oduye, Dascha Polanco, Alysia Reiner, AnnaSophia Robb, Sheetal Sheth, Vicious Psi Steppers and a musical performance by Haim.
