Hulu Renews 'Love, Victor' for Season 2

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Good news for fans of "Love, Victor." Hulu announced Friday that it is renewing the LGBTQ coming-of-age series for a second season, TVLine reports.

The show is a spinoff of the 2018 film "Love, Simon," taking place at the same school but following Victor Salazar (Michael Cimino), a teen coming to terms with his sexuality as he navigates friendships and his family. Season 1 ended with a bit of a cliffhanger so a second season renewal might not be the biggest surprise for some viewers.

"Love, Victor" showrunner Brian Tanen said the writers will "push the envelope" in its sophomore season, now that they know the show will air on Hulu. Season 1 was planned to stream on Disney+ but the company put it on Hulu due to its mature themes. TVLine reports Tanen also plans to bring more characters from "Love, Simon" into the TV show. Nick Robinson, who plays the titular teen, and Keiynan Lonsdale, who plays Bram, showed up on Season 1.
